Naomi’s House Planting Roots

Helping Good Work Take Root

Naomi’s House launched in 2016 after years of preparation, research, and a desire to provide survivors of commercial sexual exploitation with the comprehensive, trauma-informed, and faith-based care they deserve.

At the time, few established models existed to guide organizations providing this kind of care. We learned through research, relationships, experience, and a commitment to building programs that could meet survivors' complex needs.

Over the last ten years, Naomi’s House grew from serving five women annually through residential programming to serving hundreds of women each year through multiple programs across the Chicagoland area. Along the way, we developed the leadership, operational systems, fundraising strategies, and program practices necessary to sustain this work.

In 2022, we launched Planting Roots, a consulting initiative designed to share what we have learned and equip others who feel called to serve survivors in their own communities.

We believe effective programs should be rooted in both compassion and thoughtful preparation. Through Planting Roots, we come alongside emerging organizations to help them design, launch, and sustain high-quality programs that reflect their communities' unique needs and resources.

Since we began Planting Roots, we have mentored organizations across the US and internationally, including organizations in Dyer, IN; Naples, FL; San Jose, Costa Rica; and Quito, Ecuador.

We’d love to hear your vision and explore how our Planting Roots team can help it grow. Fill out the form below to start the conversation.
